Our Parish History
St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Manchester, Michigan was founded in 1871. This fieldstone church is listed on the State of Michigan's Register of Historic Sites. we are now a parish of nearly 500 registered families. The State Historical Marker located in front of the church begins: "The first Catholic church in the Manchester area was built by German settlers in Freedom Township in 1839 and dedicated to St. Francis de Borgia…"
