There are a lot of things that go on. It is especially busy from September through June. It is used for religious education classes, funeral luncheons, Boy Scout Coney Island dinners, Food Gatherers, who distribute free food to those in need of it, etc. These are the uses of the center where there is no charge. The center is also available for rent by both parishioners and non-parishioners. It is rented most often for Wedding Receptions, Anniversary Parties, Birthday Parties, Graduation Parties and Baby showers. If the center is to be rented, the following costs are involved: $100.00 - Refundable security deposit $100.00 - One Time Special Event Liability Insurance (Required by the Diocese, for your protection and the Parish) OR from your Home Owner’s Insurance, a certificate of insurance with liability coverage of at least $500,00.00 and the Diocese of Lansing, Bishop Carl Mengeling and St. Mary’s Parish as additional insured. $200.00 - Fee charged for its use to parishioners. $325.00 - Fee charged for its use to non-parishioners. There is one other option and that is to rent by the hour. The cost for this is $45.00 per hour. In addition to this, the deposit and insurance is also required. The use of the If you want to rent the center, Marja will request some information from you, for the rental agreement which also includes the rules for the center’s use. At the time you sign the agreement, you pay the deposit. The balance would be due at least 2 weeks before the scheduled event. We, as a parish, are very luck to have this facility. It really does get used a lot. There are tables and chairs stored at the Parish Center, that are available to borrow on a first come first serve basis by registered parishioners.
